About Us

Over 7 years ago, in beautiful NE Georgia, a dream was beginning to take shape. All the growing up years of a boy found him watching seeds sprout and grow. Quite a number of greenhouse projects were started through the years, some as small as a single plant tray complete with a salvaged electric computer fan and DeWalt battery for climate control, up to wrapping a chain link dog kennel in greenhouse plastic, provided by a generous commercial grower. These young plant starts were carefully planted in the rich Ohio soil and tended to through the summer. Harvest results didn’t always match the dreams in his mind, but provided good experience in the nuances of gardening.

The following years were spent working with the family in the residential construction business, learning a number of trades. But there was nearly always a hobby greenhouse project of some sort going on. Then at age of 28 he took the plunge and constructed his first commercial greenhouse structure with the intentions of providing a livelihood for his growing family. Construction was finished in 3 months and the day to harvest his first crop of hydroponic Bibb lettuce was Sept 15, 2015. Many successful growing cycles have passed since then.

As of today, there have been two expansions to keep up with the growing local market. Types of lettuce grown are Bibb, red oak leaf, green leaf and romaine. As the interest in potted herbs has grown, Basil, arugula, cilantro and other herbs have been planted to order.  In January of 2021, a partner was brought on board to help in day-to-day operations. Growing up in the agricultural area of the beautiful San Joaquin valley in Central California, he is very well acquainted with managing a farm. He has been personally involved in the producing of sweet potatoes, almonds, and silage corn, to name a few. His expertise has been of great value in farming operations as well as continuing to feed friends, neighbors and customers. Members for the farm team have also been hired from the area to support families and the local economy.

Our Process

Some may wonder, what is the process to grow such delicious crisp lettuce?! Well, for starters, it takes good greenhouse. Our greenhouse structure was purchased from Nexus Corp. It is equipped with all the necessary components to provide an optimum environment for plants to be grown at their peak. The roof keeps the drenching cloudbursts of the Gulf coast hurricanes from wreaking havoc on the young tender plants as well as keeping the crop from getting splattered with Georgia dirt. Heaters, shade cloth and fans keep the environment stable so the crop can grow its heart out! The crops are grown hydroponically for various reasons. Hydroponics saves between 70-90% more water than soil grown crops, as water is recirculated and reused. There are additional benefits: Crops may yield up to three times that of traditional gardening. For nutritional value, hydroponic vegetables may contain up to 50% more A, B, C and E vitamins than conventional crops. All this adds up to being able to produce a healthy, desirable crop, while carefully conserving the earth’s natural resources.
